Let large-space LBE VR move beyond adding more body trackers
Large-space VR needs full-body expression, but every additional tracker adds pairing, charging, cleaning, maintenance and user burden. Markerless venues offer another path.
Head and hands are not the whole person
Headsets and controllers provide strong 6DoF signals for view, aiming and hand interaction, but they do not fully describe pelvis, knees, feet and balance. Full-body expression affects avatar embodiment, multi-user awareness and physical-virtual contact.
Every tracker lengthens operations
A waist, knee or ankle tracker brings straps, sizing, battery, pairing, numbering, cleaning, slippage and failure handling. In a multi-player venue, turnaround time can become the real bottleneck.
Markerless moves body tracking into the venue
Fixed cameras around the space can observe players from multiple directions and reconstruct their body motion. Players carry fewer devices, while staff maintain venue infrastructure and a smaller set of interactive objects.
Do not give up rigid-body precision
Markerless body capture and optical rigid-body tracking solve different problems. Human joints can be markerless, while headsets, controllers, guns, props and handles still benefit from stable 6DoF tracking. The key is a shared coordinate system and timeline.
Semcam Live for LBE workflows
Semcam Live captures multi-person body motion at the venue; Goku tracks headsets, controllers, weapons, props and interactive installations. Active Center manages bodies and rigid objects in one project for Unreal Engine, Unity, Live Link, C++, Python, FBX and BVH workflows.
